
On August 23, 1979 application was made for permanent charter of the Plum American Legion Post #980 under the leadership of Commander Walter Bender.
Our Post was approved and chartered in Harrisburg November 1, 1979 and so we began.
The Officers at the time of our original charter were:

The members were Raymond Jablonowski, John Banke, James Jablonowski, Joseph Paradiso, Joseph Bumbera, John J. Muschic, Edward T Waugh, Joseph M. Loughrey Jr., Alan Boynton, Hugh Dinnison, John J George, Albert J Fedak and Edgar S Murdy.
The liquor license was issued to our Route 286 location May 8, 1984 and the bar opened Memorial Weekend 1984.
We purchased our currently location formerly the Nashville North Building on June 11, 1992
We are best identified by our M60A3 Main Battle Tank which was delivered in May of 1999.

The remodel of the building took place in April 2003.
Our New Memorial was dedicated on Memorial Day 2007.
Our Post #980 filed for Articles of Incorporation on October 31, 1990.
